Books
Over the past few weeks I’ve been reading books that friends have recommended to me. (I’ve sort of been out of the fiction loop for quite a few years now what with working and assorted degrees.) I decided that I should consolidate all of those “reviews” that I’ve written, although to call them reviews is quite a bit of smoke going up my ass.
So here are the books I have read since my fiction quest began complete with links to my posts about them.
Mama Day, by Gloria Naylor
The Virgin Blue, by Tracy Chevalier
The Time Traveler’s Wife, by Audrey Niffenegger
The Joy Luck Club, by Amy Tan
A Dirty Job, by Christopher Moore
The Harry Potter series, by J.K. Rowling. (Although to be honest, this is not a review, merely a commentary on controversy surrounding the Harry Potter books.)
The Life of Pi, by Yann Martel
My Name is Red, by Orhan Pamuk
Survivor, by Chuck Palahniuk
Helen of Troy, by Margaret George
His Dark Materials, by Philip Pullman (Here is another post, a rant really, also concerning the books.)
A World Without End, by Ken Follett
The Circus in Winter, by Cathy Day
My Horizontal Life, by Chelsea Handler

Hope all is well…

Have you ever read the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer? I know that some people that I recommend that to roll their eyes because it is young adult and about vampires but it is a seriously good book. I got all the girls at my work hooked on it. If you are looking for books to read, consider that one.
